This is not first hand but gives you an idea of what he is facing.

Bob went in for two surgeries last week. One was for a stint and the other was for an aneurysm. After the stint was inserted he had a stroke and the carotid artery burst.

He is in the ICU now and in and out of consciousness. When he was awake he was asking about his puppy and who was taking care of it. It is currently kenneled at the vet. TreeBass is going to pick her up and take care of her until Bob gets better.

Please offer up some prayers for Bob and his wife, Deb.

I just spent some time talking with Deb. She is holding up well under the circumstances, but is worried about Bob's condition.

He will be in ICU for another couple days, unexpected, but stable for the moment.

Bob had his best day so far yesterday, and he was moved out of ICU and into the surgery ward this morning!

This is great, its a step closer to being in a normal ward.

I talked to Bob on the phone tonight.

His spirits are up but he has been through a lot more than was expected. He will be in the hospital for a few more weeks and will have a lot of rehabilitation to go through.

He appreciates the thoughts and prayers and hopefully he will be able to update us on his status tomorrow.

I talked to Bob again last night and he is feeling better and sounds better. I think boredom is starting to set in. He had his first day of physical therapy yesterday.

He may still need to have another operation, he is supposed to talk to another group of doctors today.

Hopefully he will get internet access soon and update you all himself.

Just finished talking to Deb and Bob and they are both doing well. deb ran into an issue with the laptop and verizon card, and should have Bob on the net by wednesday at the latest.

If he continues progressing as well as he has, he should be released to go home in about 8-10 days!

Bob really wants to be home by Thanksgiving. Keep them in your prayers

Hey Robert! Glad to see you posting. I had double stents installed in May of 1999 (when Cappy was 4 months old), was starting his training a month later and hunted him that October. These 10 seasons since then have been a "gift" and I'm awfully grateful for them. Bet you will be for your's too.

If you come this way and hunt with us, I can drive you to within 10 feet of the door to Carol's blind. If need be, we can drag you the remainder.

I spoke with Bob on Thanksgiving. His wife, Debbie, was there and she was making a dutch oven roast in the parking lot for their meal.

Bob told me the Internet access is spotty in the hospital so he can't always get on to check e-mail or post here.

He is doing physical therapy every day, his speech sounds great.

I talked to Bob tonight. He said he was hoping to be released from the hospital on or about the 16th.

He will still be going for Physical Therapy twice a week.

He is in a wheelchair most of the time but can walk a few steps with a walker or a four-footed cane.

Dont know ya..but I know your pain!!As soon as I retired I had to have a second heart surgery ,knee surgery and surgery on my L-3 & L-4 so I feel for ya..God speed on the healing-nothing worse than being cooped up in the house for 13 weeks straight!!

yup 8 weeks as a inpatientatin the VA hospial,and I Should have stayed another three or four weeks as I'm having some real balance issues after the second stroke.

yup I'll be back out there next season,I'm sure this season is over for me now

yup Borther Phil's not as good looking as I was but they had to cut my 20 year old bread during surgery.it's started growing back all readybut it's going to take a few years to catch up again. I've worked with brother Phil a couple of times great man and better duck hunter Ihope he doesn't read this post,he'll never let me live this down,but he knows I'm better looking

It was more like.... A greenhead. That was the only one that really wanted to play. We had a lot fly over the treetops the first day, but we passed on them hoping they would come down. The second day we had a group of easily 50+ fly over head. It wasn't until after we shot that I realized they were going to work us a little better. But after the first day I was afraid they would circle around and not come back. Weary little bastages.
