Had a fox that's been hangin around, just missed him the other evening with my bow(just grazed his back). I went out tonight and called him in, 120 yds and I laid the smack down on him, the new rem 700 sps in 22-250 dropped him. I see this fox at least once aday, it had gotten personall, lol. I'm new to varmit hunting and this is my first grey fox!!

I'm with you on that one. I shot one last year and wish I had not. Can't say they really nother any of the game I hunt. I guess they might get after turkey's, rabbits, quail, etc, but I don't really hunt them.

Several years ago I was sitting on a stand in Rocksprings and had the best time watching a fox chasing a jackrabbit. The fox never did catch the jack.

I had a client tell me that he shot a red fox nearly 55 years ago and that it still bothers him to this day. What is it about them that makes some people feel this way?

I caught one by hand a few weeks ago but I have never shot one.

Congrats Cody!!

Not sure why some of you guys have trouble with them. Maybe someone can explain what it is that bothers them (not trying to start anything just curious)?

I really enjoy calling them and hunting them but now you all have me thinking that maybe I'm just a heartless SOB....

Don't know why but just decided that day I didn't need to shoot another one. I've passed many up since then too.

Call me a PETA tree-hugging hippie, but I believe that it is b/c they are such beautiful animals that don't really do anything to anybody, just control the rodent population...

back in college i'd go after them suckers. Red, yellow, brown and black maned ones. Man, the elaborate traps i'd set for em! Using cover scent, getting all dressed up and wind up doing some kinda mating dance in the end that would always bring em in!! I bagged quite a few, most I dont regret
worthless

I guess according to the rules here, maybe it didnt happen.

don't forget Turkey poults, Quail chicks and other juvenile game birds!!

However, your statement, with the exception of the rodent control part, could apply to many, many game animals. When speaking of hunting, it's very easy to be almost contradictory. I don't know why, for example, I don't think I could ever shoot a Giraffe, although I'd love the hide in my trophy room. And I'd lay it right next to the Zebra hide that I had no problem putting a bullet through grin....makes no sense but that's certainly the way I feel.

Please know, I'm not trying to start anything, as I find that it's usually enlightening to hear other points of view.

Regards,
Scott
