I volunteered to start the thread this year. Thanks for all the input. You can't make everyone happy, but I tried to incorporate good ideas that were well received on the previous threads.

1. This is for fun. No monetary prizes or wagers.
2. Everyone must obey applicable state and federal laws.
3. You are on the honor system. Post up a picture of your day's hunt from this season listing the date and the identifying the birds you shot from the group.
4. Add your own points with points from that day and total points in your post. I will try to do a weekly summary each Tuesday after the weekend posts are all up.
5. Hybrid ducks will be counted as 5 points if your picture can clearly show why it should be considered a hybrid and there is consensus on the board.
6. Banded birds get 5 points for each band.
7. We'll include our okie and cajun neighbors this year. Previous years were just Texas.
8. Contest runs from Oct 31, 2009 through Jan 24, 2010
9. Have fun and be safe this season.

I tried to weight it to the ducks people shoot fewer of being worth more. A 5 point duck should be a bonus and I think the way it is currently set up would be very hard to max out on 5 point birds in a single day.

(The reason for this is to encourage conservation and in flight identification. Shooting coots is only done by crazy cajuns on purpose. If you can prove you are a crazy cajun and make a gumbo with your coots we might not dock the points.)

I thought I had two hens till I went to clean em.

There have been a few misidentified birds and more than one math error. I think I might have to start deducting points for those two things. Random deductions would be fun. If you add it up wrong deduct 5 points, Use one point for a GWT instead of three deduct 10, misidentify deduct 20.

I could also add extra points for incorporating the kids in the hunt or picture a girl biting the head of a duck.

Hopefully I can do this math in my head. We lost track of who shot what, because most were singles and pairs that got "Double tapped" by multiple people. There were three hunters, so instead of trying to guess which birds I killed, I'm lumping them together and divding by 3. I know this isnt the correct proceedure, but my only other option is to say i shot a pintail, 2 greenheads, and 3 gadwall drakes
