Just wanted to know a few things from you Hunters, So please answer my Poll. From what i can tell everybody wants a Deer Hunting Lease for $ 1000.00 but i have joined "The Hunting Pages" and "The Texas Lease Connection" and ther seems to be no such Lease.and ya'll laugh at the guy's who post for a lease for $ 1000.00.and tell them no way!!
How Much are you really paying ( not what you tell your wife )
How many acers do you have ?
How many hunters on the place ?
Do you have a Cabin on it , Water , Ele. ?
How many years on the place ?
How much was it when you first got on?
What county is it in ?
What have you Killed on it? ( post pictures )
Does the land owners friends & family hunt it too ?

Now that you have my questions i will go first !!

I pay $ 3200.00 for a season .
We have 1800 acers
we have 12 Hunters
We have a cabin ( central air/heat , full kitchen, shower , and sat tv. )
It is in Medina County
We have had it 3 years
* * Along with the 12 PAID Hunters we have the landowners Family hunting and the Drunkin ranch mgr and his drunk kids hunting ) I am getting tired of it.It is not part of our agreement. But i do not mind paying extra for the aminities.

Thanks

well i dont have a lease but used to lease our ranch out and this was what it leased for 600 per gun max 3 guns, we didnt mind if your wife or children hunted with u... it was 100+ acres on the jim wells duval county line, all stands were already on property and maintained, feeders where on property and in good working conditions, ( we filled them up before season and hunters took care after that) we planted oats and wheat and peas on 25 acres of it for our cattle after hunting season, had 2 ponds, caliche roads that were well maintained, water , electricty, and a 40 X 60 paviliaon where u parked your campers around, that was coverd and had cement slab underneath with wall on north side to block wind, also had small bunkhouse with kitchen and full bath.......... all hunting regulated by state of texas, good working hog trapps that they could use, year around lease, that means had it for dove, turkey, deer, quail, and what ever else they wanted to hunt ,,,, i one spot reserved for me but if they were hunting we had a deal they would put a flag on gate and if it was there i would go back home with out entering so not to mess there hunt up.........thats bout it..

Im willing to pay if we get it w/o all the drunk friends & family

I can see you get tired of all the other hunts after paying that much. I dont think I could pay that and share it wilth friends and family.

I did a poll a while back and for the most part everyone that replied paid less than $1,500 a gun. Basically it is who you know if you want a good lease or another means besides the lease subscriber services. Those ads seem really crazy for what you get.

My old lease was $1,250 to $1,500 a gun less than 2 hours from DFW. You got 80 to 120 acres a gun and camp with water and electricity. Still same price this year.

750 Acres Gillespie/Kimble Counties(split the land)
5 hunters - at $1000/gun
5 deer limit - 3 bucks & 2 antlerless, turkeys and all other game. Year round
Cabin, electricity, water all paid

Landowners and their relatives do not hunt the land but a small tract across the Hwy only. That is in our agreement. Great folks and have had the lease since 79...back then it was $500/gun.

Best deer has been a 12pt w/23" inside spread scored 172 back in 2005.

Several large 8s-10s with 19-20" inside spread...we feed year round protein except for Aug-Jan.

Ya, I just thought about that right before you posted. Guess I read it wrong. 3 hunters on 550 would be nice.

I have a family lease of 100 acres in Young County, 2 blinds, 2 food plots totalling 20 acres, a stocked tank (bass & catfish), year round access. It is mainly just me and my oldest son, could also hunt my younger son when he's a bit older. The landowner hunts opening weekend with me and his uncle who grazes cattle there hunts around Thanksgiving in payment for planting the food plots. I pay $1500.

It is my first year on this place. My boy took his first deer - a forkhorn opening morning. I mistook a spike for a doe the week of Thanksgiving so we've both filled out buck tags. These are the only 2 deer we've seen and I've hunted every weekend except for Thangsiving weekend. There are plenty of deer there showing up on the cameras at night, and plenty of hogs. I found it through posting a Want to lease add on Craigslist.

I might let it go after this year though. I've gotten to know 2 hunters that stay at the hotel in Graham where I stay. They've been on the same lease for 10 years - 450 acres outside of Graham, they usually have 4 hunters and have an opening. There are 2 of them plus one other hunter who has not even hunted this year. They invited me to join and I probably will. Families are allowed so I could still bring my boys. They allow you to hunt in one anothers blind - just leave it as you found it. That gives me access to more land at cheaper price (less than $1000). And allows me to go from a place that you pull the deer in and get transient deer to one that can hold them - awesome terrain too, a prominent mesa with the deer bedding down on the sides of the mesa.

Earl

Put the pencil to this one. 397 ac. $7,500.00/yr. They built a 1200 sq. ft. house, cent.H/air. They wanted a 5 year contract for that amount and they were glad to get it in Coleman County. The've killed one doe and one spike so far. 5 part-time hunters, mostly bow.
